Admission Procedures for International Students
A Covenant International University and Seminary Ontario application form for admission must be completed, signed and submitted to the University along with transcripts and other supporting documents (such as ministry life and/or work experiences). Documents submitted will be evaluated by the Academic Review Committee, and the applicant will receive an email regarding his/her admission. An “Affidavit of Agreement” must be read and signed upon successful admission.
Covenant International University and Seminary Ontario reserves the right to reject any applicant for any reason or condition incompatible with the standards, principles or purposes of the school (or should the study be deemed impractical for the applicant). If, for any reason, admission to Covenant International University and Seminary Ontario is denied, any/all monies (with the exception of the non-refundable application/processing fee – CAD $100) will be refunded. Non-Discrimination Policy: Covenant International University and Seminary Ontario does not refuse admission to any applicant on the basis of race/ethnicity, colour, national origin, or sex. We guarantee the rights and privileges and the availability of all programs and activities to all students of the University.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be a Christian: all students enrolling in Covenant International University and Seminary Ontario are required to subscribe to and practice a lifestyle which is an exemplary testimony for Christ and which is in accordance with the moral and spiritual standards generally accepted by the full gospel community.
- Recommendation letter from your Pastor/church.
- A certificate from an accredited institution of higher learning and/or United States of America (USA) Grade 12 diploma and/or GCE Ordinary /CXC results.
- Cover letter demonstrating work experience (which does not have to be in church work).
International students can only complete the Introduction to Chaplaincy course, and/or the International Chaplaincy Program at the Covenant International University and Seminary Canada campus by distance learning. All international students who have successfully completed the International Chaplaincy Program at the Covenant International University and Seminary Canada campus are required to attend graduation in person to receive their award/credentials (certificate, Chaplain ID card and Chaplain badge). As such, international students should ensure that they apply for a visitor’s visa on time to attend the graduation in July. International students may request a supporting document (confirmation letter of your student status and completion) via email (info@cius-edu-canada.ca) from the Office of the Registrar. It is important to note that the Covenant International University and Seminary Canada Campus cannot guarantee any international student’s entry to Canada; and, does not issue or process visitor’s visa applications. An international student’s entry to Canada is solely based on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
